Annie Denies Girls Aloud Demanded Track Removal

Annie has revealed that she was not forced by fellow pop stars Girls Aloud to drop a song from her new album, as it featured the band's vocals without seeking their permission.

Reports claimed that the track 'My Love Is Better', which opens the Norwegian popster's second album, had angered the group who then demanded that it was removed.

Talking to Digital Spy however, Annie tells a different side to that reported: "Girls Aloud were in the studio next door recording 'Can't Speak French' and we needed some backing vocals."

"Brian [Higgins - producer] asked them if they'd like to help out. They were really up for it and came into my studio and it was really fun."

The song will still appear on the album, but will now not feature the Girls Aloud backing vocals: "Something came up with the record label," says Annie "and they couldn't be on the record after all."

"It's a bit of a shame, but it's not as dramatic as they said in the papers. Nobody got nasty."

Annie releases new single 'I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me' on July 14th.
